why not just go to auto zone or any parts place and get the codes read for FREE, and then we can help with it. However if you would rather spend thousands of dollars to find out it was a vacuum leak or something CHEAP and stupid, then by all means have at it.
...Now back to the issue...this "master" Ford Mechanic you're speaking of doesn't sound too credible. He took a look at it and all you came away with was that you needed to tear the engine apart because the compression is low?
