Vintage Air has a Sure Fit system for 53-56 F100's that looks like it might be easy to modify. They may even have a unit they recommend for the '65. I've installed several on different vehicles, and they're a good unit that'll blow you outa the cab. Most of the systems have heat and air.

This same hang-on unit was used in 1963/65 Falcon/Fairlane, 1965 Mustang & F100/350.

1966: The unit is the same, except the area around the registers was painted charcoal.

1966 unit fits: Falcon/Fairlane/Mustang & 1966/67 F100/350.

Hi!
I am looking for the same info but with an in-dash evaporator. Trying to keep my costs down so I'm not going with the packaged system from classic air. Found one at raibowproductsonline.com for $215.00 that might be just what I'm looking but since my truck is in Mexico I can't verify the space available (depth) at this moment. The evaporator dimensions are 4 1/2 H * 10 1/2 D * 18 W.

Someone else has any experience with aftermarket in-dash evaporators?

This is a great place!

Thanks!

gus

I've visited with vintage air and they gave me all the part numbers for the unit and then recommended that I call Classic Auto Parts in OKC, OK. Vintage air said it would cost about $1300 and they thought that Classic couild cut a better deal, Classic cost shipped to Tx is $995.00 ( vintage said they could not sell below retail/ they gave me a name of one of there dealers, Classic Auto.

Now when visitng with Classic air they informed me that they did not sell 2 groove pulleys, so they gave the telephone number of march performance. I called them and they told me that they did not make pulleys for a 65 F 100, also they told me that I would have to change the balancer on the crankshaft, I need help finding a balancer with 2 grooves (that will work) that would fit a 352 (engine) crankshaft and also a 2 groove pulley for the waterpump that will work. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Kevin Felix.

I was lucky enough to find a 302 from a 79 truck and pulled the complete set of pulleys for $50. I have a 302 in my 66. The only extra thing I needed to mount a Sanden Compressor I bought from Ebay is a York to Sanden adapator that I got for $55 and I'm set. Palellel flow condenser from ebay $80
For hoses I'm looking at the EZ clip system from Aeroquip. They are more expensive but seem to be very easy to use.

I need help finding a balancer with 2 grooves (that will work) that would fit a 352 (engine) crankshaft no such thing! and also a 2 groove pulley for the waterpump that will work.
There is no such thing as a double pulley harmonic balancer for a 352 or any other FE engine.

There is no such thing because...it wasn't necessary, even if the vehicle had A/C, P/S, a smog pump and a dual belt alternator! Vehicles with all this jazz used five belts.

You do not need a balancer...period. Whoever gave you this info doesn't know chit!

What Ford did was offer one, two, three and four sheave (groove) outer crankshaft pulleys. These BOLTED to the harmonic balancer and were used when P/S, and/or A/C, and/or smog pump, and/or with a dual belt alternator was present.

Ford did the same thing with all engines, for all years.

You wanna add A/C? Find yourself a 1962/64 352/390 Galaxie which has hang on A/C, take everything off, and install it on your truck.

1965/67 Galaxie/LTD's came with in dash A/C, so you cannot use this part of the A/C, but everything under the hood is the same as was used on 1965/67 F100/350's.

The hang on A/C dash units used in 1963/65 Falcon/Fairlane, 1965/66 Mustang is the same unit as was used in 1965/67 F100/350's.

Get yourself one a these hang on units (these are not that hard to find) then remove all the other stuff from a 1962/67 Galaxie/LTD.

1968 and later use a different harmonic balancer. The outer pulleys used w/this balancer will not work with 1967 and older engines, as they have a different bolt pattern.

I have found single or double waterpump and crankshaft outer pulleys NOS for FTE members adding A/C and/or P/S, so I can prolly find some for you. The same ones were used on the cars.

The harmonic balancer has a single sheave pulley made as part of it.

If a double sheave outer crankshaft pulley cannot be found, you can bolt two single sheave outer pulley's on instead.

Or, you could use a triple sheave pulley, just don't use one of the sheaves.

air conditoner

Now,as I was talking to a mechanic who I think is going to install the a/c he said, why do you want to spend $995.00 on all the (new) equipment when you could find it at salvage places and spend a lot less money. Is this a better option than purchaceing all new stuff. I'm lost, please help with your opinions. Thanks Kevin Felix
