tie rod setup on '66 F100 2WD

So I have been researching the old threads and I wish I had read jowilker before and took his advice concerning getting a donor truck and swapping everything out instead of the 'ol piece meal approach.

I'm adding power steering and power disc brakes to my '66 F100 2WD. Everything I purchased came off an existing an '66 F100 2WD. He was moving his truck to a crown vic frame and do some other mods.

My question is concerning the tie rods. It's the only thing I didn't acquire. Can I use my current ones or will the new power steer box require a different setup?

Draglink, left inner/outer tie rod/tie rod end are the same M/S vs P/S (1965/70 F100 2WD, 1965/70 F250 2WD with 12 1/8" x 2" brakes).

The Pitman Arm is not the same. Manual steering uses a different Pitman Arm than w/Bendix P/S.

I assume you got this part since it attaches to the sector shaft of the Bendix P/S gearbox.

That's correct! Okay, sounds like I am set!

I got the whole front end setup, which had already been painted with fairly new calipers, rotor and pads. Plus it had a sway bar. With that and the power steer box I paid $200.

need to check into the fat that the manual steering tie rods are smaller in diameter than the p/s ones. i used some off of a 79 2wd p/s and they fit correctly alon with the pitman arm and draglink. bought new ends.

What the are you talking about?

i used some off of a 79 2wd p/s and they fit correctly alon with the pitman arm and draglink. bought new ends.
Did you read what the OP typed? Obviously not.

He has a 1966 F100 without P/S and said he got the parts from a 1966 F100 with P/S, not from a 1973/79.

He wanted to know if the steering linkage from his non P/S 1966 F100 is the same as the 1966 F100 with P/S. And it is, except for the Pitman Arm.

C5TZ3304C .. Draglink

C5TZ3A130A .. Tie Rod-Inner

C5TZ3A131A .. Tie Rod-Outer

Fits: 1965/70 F100 2WD and 1965/70 F250 2WD w/12 1/8" x 2" brakes with or without P/S.

1966/68 F100/250 2WD & 1969 F100/2WD before serial number D96,001 used BENDIX P/S.

1969 F100/250 2WD's and F350's from serial number D96,001 / All 1970/79 F100/350 2WD's and 1978/79 F150/350 4WD's used FORD P/S.

The Pitman Arm used with Bendix P/S is different than the one used without P/S, different from the ones use with Ford P/S.

What you typed inre to steering linkage does not apply in this situation.

I got everything hooked up yesterday; everything fit real nice! Thanks again!

NumberDummy: The only thing I am unsure about is the actual hardware that holds the end of the the I-beam axles in place. I had the bushings, but didn't do a good job of keeping the bolt and nut with it. What I can't remember for the life of me is whether it was a castellated nut or not? Seems like everything else around it is, but I didn't have any left over. Are you able to look that up? I have not had any luck finding that specific part mentioned in any catalog or part store online.
