Heckler and Koch
In American? Like "coke".
In German, "koch" would be pronounced rather like the Scots word "loch" with the "chhh" sound as if summoning phlegm from back in the throat.
By the way, "Koch" is the German word for "Cook".

That can be a tricky one. My wife's maiden name was Koch, pronounced Cook per German immigrant family roots in the early 1900s.
I knew a guy whose name also was Koch but pronounced Coach.
I have heard ****, Kook, Kotch(like Scotch).
So what do I know?
I always pronounced the HK name as Kotch or Cook(after I got married).
I owned a HK 91 in the 80s. Hated shooting it. Always came home from the range with a black eye. The butt stock is made for midgets, I am built like a gorilla, so the pull is way too short and that hump on the reciever bashes my cheek bone. I have shot many other high power rifles and NONE of them beats me up like a HK 91. I sold that owner beater for 100% profit, thanks to exchange rate of the Mark vs $ and hysteria about black guns in the 80s.
Just my experience,

Like the rooster.
I own a VP-70Z. I love it! 18 round mag with 1 in the pipe, 2 full mags on my belt gives me 55 rounds.

Ah, best way to get an answer is to go to the source. From HK-usa FAQ section, very first question/answer...

I LOVE the M14 platform!!!
My M1A is a sub MOA rifle out to 300 yards and beyond.
I'll recant and say that the MP5 is one fine little machine, too. A real 'kick-in-the-pants' to shoot! (Even more if it's suppressed!!)
I never liked the 91 for the same reason posted above. I have long arms & it just doesn't fit me. I like the build quality of the HK guns. I'd like a 308 on a ar15 platform. My 308 is the best shooting rifle in my collection.
