Transmission electrical problem?
1995 F150 2wd 300 six 3 speed auto with OD
Dad told me he was driving down the road, all of a sudden the speedo stops working, odometer stops working, abs light comes on and the transmission is shifting very firmly and seems to free wheel when coasting. My first thought was to replace the speed sensor in the rear end, no sensor in the transmission. Didn't fix the problem, thought I may have looked over something easy, checked fuses, ok. Where to next?

That is a output shaft sensor, not the speed sensor for the speedometer on the 4R70W transmission.

You can start by unplugging the RABS module and see if the speedometer starts working again.
Check all the wiring down the drivers side frame rail to the rear end.
Recheck the fuses for the speedometer, namely #8 and #18 in the dash fuse panel.

UPDATE
Unplugged RABS module, speedo is working, along with odometer, transmission is shifting normal. The ABS light also went out. I'm assuming I need a new RABS module if I want the ABS to work.
