explorer rearend swap?
Ford 8.8 limited slip Rear End (posi)
Hey this caught my eye while I was looking on craigslist today. Anybody know if I could swap this into my 88 f150? Would be a shorter distance between the wheels?

explorer rear wont bolt up to a full size, its smaller width wise and leaf perches are spaced differently, but if your just looking for a posi for the rear end you can use the posi carrier out of the explorer rear their both 31 spline, just make sure to swap ring gears and put the original ring gear (that came out of ur truck) on the explorer carrier, ps dont forget the abs ring

(as said) different axle width and the spring perches won't line up. Also different wheel lug patterns and if the explorer is rear disc you need a braking system that is designed for a 4 wheel disc system, not 2 wheel disc/2 wheel drum.
