All of the sudden this afternoon on my '94 F150 XLT, my speedo quit working, odometer quit working, and the overdrive "off" light on the end of my column shifter started blinking. The overdrive button itself was still functional. Also, when I got home I went to lock the door with the keyless fob and nothing. I went back to lock the doors with the inside switch on the door panel, but when I pushed to lock the parking lights lit up on the front of the truck and nothing else happened. Also the interior lights do not come on when I open the door? Where do I start troubleshooting? I am familiar with the wiring on my '73 top to bottom, but have no experience with wiring on this truck.
As my cruise does not work, and recently when I started the ABS light stayed on...until I cut off the truck and started again, and then it went off. All are indicators from what I have read of a PSOM problem.
Fuse #8 blown. Someone had previously replaced this fuse and put a smaller 10A fuse in the slot. Panel calls for a 15a. My truck came with aftermarket radio, and sometimes the memory does not keep. I see on the panel that the radio memory is controlled by this fuse, so I am taking a guess that a loose connection on my radio memory wire caused this. I'll dig into the dash later to see if I can find the culprit. I was worried it might be the PSOM after reading all of the post and everyone stating that was a big problem on these trucks. Thanks for the help!
Yes. Everything is operational again. But the cruise control....any ideas where to start on troubleshooting cruise? It was inoperable when I got the truck.
I believe there is a fuse for that too but I don't know what # since I don't have my truck with me right now. Umm... then it could also be the unit itself that might be bad.
