Ford Cummins??????

Ford Cummins??????
A guy I know told me that Ford actually owned Cummins. Is there any truth to this as far as anyone knows. He also said that They (Ford) was going to let them (Dodge) run the cummins until their contract ran out in a few years, then Dodge was thinking about going to Cat motors. Don't know what to think. Someone let me know.

No, no relation, and Dodge will eventually use Mercedes-Benz diesels, not Cat. Chrysler is in the same company with Mercedes, so why would they use engines from an outside supplier?

I don't honestly know all of the particulars so I'm not going to pretend that I do. However I do know for certain that Ford does not own Cummins.
They did however at one oint in time own less that 10% of Cummins stock.
I believe all of that stock was sold to free up capital for new plants that were built in the last few years????
Anyone who know for certain jump in here.................

Detriot Diesel company is now owned by DaimlerChrysler LOL http://www.detroitdiesel.com/index.asp check that out...so much for chevy...
