more questions

Got a 07 f250 cc sb 121800 miles. Been reading on the site since I got it a couple weeks ago and see people talking about an oasis report? How do I do that?

Mod questions: found an egr delete on ebay for buy it now 175 free ship... Can someone look at it and see if its worth anything? Also does that take care of the egr/oil cooler?

Edge insite ct been reading about it and decided to go with one where's the best place to get it?

Sct tuner: decided from reading to go with this one gathered best place is from eric at innovations... How should I get it tuned if I do the egr delete and no muffler? Not looking for a bunch of power wanting more reliability and fuel milage somthing that won't hurt the truck in the long run?

What are the advantages disadvantages of crank case mod?

Sorry for the questions but I'm new to it and reading all the stuff that needs to be done to make the 6.0 last kinda scared me cause ford put all this stuff on there for a reason and just don't wanna screw nothing up.

Welcome to the 6.0L forum at FTE! The 07's have a great reputation for reliability IMO.

1. Get the OASIS report at the dealership

2. Someone else will have to jump in on the EGR delete kit. I am in the minority that is happy w/ the EGR system. The EGR delete still does not take care of the oil cooler plugging on the coolant side of the heat exchanger. You need a coolant filter (IMO) and gauges at a minimum (again IMO). catching a plugging oil cooler EARLY can save you $$'s.

3. Others can jump in on the Edge Insight also, but I do like Thoroughbred Diesel. There are quite a few other good places to get it.

4. Give Eric at Innovative a call and talk to them about what you want - He should be able to give you some good ideas of what would be good for you. Then post up specific questions if you have them.

5. I personally like the ccv mod. I had a lot of oil in the turbo inlet and in the tube/boots to the CAC. The oil can reduce the heat transfer, I also think it is not good for combustion. Some folks (that I highly respect) have never done this mod and have seen no problems. I do know that the oil from the ccv will soften the OEM boots and eventually cause them to fail, so I am a big proponent of it.

Finally - read up on the appropriate maintenance. Find out about the reliability mods (fuel pressure regulator spring, and others), and seriously consider gauges.

Btw the truck was previously owned by an elder who just pulled a camper it was completely stock and is in immaculate condition. Thanks for responding if I just keep maintinance up on the egr say every other oil change it should be fine shouldn't it? Where's a thread I can read up on the oil cooler ie how to check maintain or whatever? Also your last post said get gauges the edge insite doesn't replace gauges if I get that? And that is one mod I forgot I was gonna do was a dieselites coolant filter.

You are correct - the Insight will get you most of what you need for gauges (sorry I missed the fact that you had decided on this). What it doesn't get you is fuel pressure and EGT.

I had the Edge Juice with the monitor for a while. Then I got the SCT X3 from Eric and stacked on the Juice so I could continue to get EGT and Boost readings. Got rid of the Juice and got an Autometer 3 guage pilar mount with fuel pressure, EGT and boost gauges. I like the latter a lot better then the Egde readout.

well i think i got the shopping list finished tell me what you think...

sct x3 (innovations)
edge insite ct
cat delete (by me)
coolant filter (dieselite)
ccv
maybe maybe not egr delete (need more input)
turbo saver
upgrade fuel pressure spring
either leveling kit or 4.5'' lift

what im bout to do:
tranny hot flush
vc9 coolant flush
change fluid in t-case, rear dif, front dif
grease slip joint
ccv

what ive done already:
change oil
air filter (motorcraft)
muffler delete
egr cleaning
fuel filters changed

thats what ive come up with, as i said im not wanting to put massive hp to the truck just looking to make it reliable and efficient so if ive missed somthing lemme know. thanks

Run a cetene booster in it on every tank. I use diesel kleen, gray bottle for summer white bottle for winter. You can get it at walmart. Your injectors will thank you. Also, and you don't have to but your injectors will love you more, you could put an airdog on it. It's a water/air seperator. Takes the air bubbles out of the fuel so your injectors don't get any air pockets in em. JMO

Edge is working on fuel pressure and other additions to the insight ct/cts. Just make sure you get the expandable egt probe for the EAS system.
