Question about carb and efi intake manifolds

Will the stock intake manifold from a carbureted 300ci bolt up to the head on an engine that was originally fuel injected? Thanks.

Completely. There's very little differences between the EFI and carbureted blocks.

The issue you may run in to is some binding with the EFI exhaust manifolds. There are a few places where they try to occupy the same space (since they were never designed to go together.) On mine, when I put EFI exhaust manifolds with my carb intake, it was one of the eyelets on the exhaust manifold, and a nub that stuck out on one of the runners. A little grinding is all that's needed to remove both.

EFI head has (3?) more bolt holes than a carbed head, but they are otherwise the same on the outside. I believe the extra bolt holes were simply used to allow easier mounting of the manifolds since the 2 exhaust and 1 intake were not joined on the EFI like they were on the carbed setup. On the EFI, you have to hang 3 seperate pieces that still use the shared bolts to hold them on.

Yup, it's 16 vs 13. Although, since he has the EFI head, he should be able to use the extra 3 bolt holes for ease of installation, which would be really nice. Unless, one needs to be ground off make it fit with the carb intake.

Thanks a lot for the quick replies. I've got an extra engine that I'm wanting to play with but with a carburetor not its present efi. I was wondering about how much trouble I was going to run into with the change.
