Can you clean AFE proguard 7 filter with Dawn

My filter is really dirty, but I dont have any of the afe cleaning solution. Can you clean these things with dawn dish washing detergent? Would it hurt it?

Yes, you can. No, it won't hurt, but it won't get it very clean. It will just remove the heavy, superficial stuff.

I use Dawn first whenever I clean my filters, then the cleaning solution.
