We just worked on a 80' Viking with twin 2400hp MTUs. It uses a Racor three bowl turbine filter/separator that flows over 500 gph (costs $ 2300.00 per unit). Probably a little more than we need for our little 6.0s.

I can atest to that as I work for MTU. That must have been 16v2000. I also dont think we are to the point to centrifugal filters as on the 4000 and 8000 series. I think our factory set up is good as long as you drain the water plug every oil change. However I do think it would help. I do think it is starting to get a little crazy though I mean I first added Amsoil ByPass 110, then we came to well we need a coolant filter, then well we need a 3rd fuel filter and well our transmission needs a second inline filter or maybe a 3rd. I dont know working on $500K-1ml engines that see 5000gal fuel in one country then 5000 in another ok we can go with a dual seapro's or something crazy. I do agree hey I dont want to kill my engine either but where are we going in this country were its that bad or you cant change your filters maybe just a little early. I am all for preventative maintenance but in all honesty how far is to far?...
