I am looking at getting new tires and have been running BFG all terrains for the life of my truck. This last set I went from 285's to 265's to get the E rating. I see now they have the 285's in the E rating. Most of my driving is hiway with seasonal hunting trips that go off road. Is there a tire comparable to the BFG that I should look at? I a average about 60k with the 285's. Thanks
Kelly Safaris or Kelly Fierce Attudies I run the Safari on my truck 315/75/16 E rateds and I got them for 790 mounted and balanced. They ride good look very similar to a BFG and ride well. zx250 has the same tires and he likes them as well. Not sure on the wear yet haven't had them on over 500 miles yet but they balance out well and for the price you can't beat them.
There is no other tire that will compare to the BFG A/T from my experiences. Long tread life, quiet on the highway, decent off-road. However, there are other tires to be had cheaper with lesser results. In the long run, you still come out better w/ the BFGs.

This has been my experience also. Just keeping my options open.
BFG's are made by Michelin, which is one of the better, albeit more expensive, tires on the market. If you can afford them, I would suggest staying with them. I own and operate a small tire store and use michelin products (michelin, uniroyal, BFG) on my vehicles.
The Firestone Destination A/T is a good one to consider as well. It will last just about as long, be almost as quiet & do slightly better off-road after a light rain. I think they're a little cheaper, too.

Sold the Firestones that came with the truck within 2000 miles and won't buy another pair. Just don't trust them.

BFG's are ok tires, but I much prefer Toyo Open Country tires.
I'm on my second set on my Ex and just recently replaced the POS Uniroyals that were on my F250 when I bought it, with a set of Toyo Open Country's.
Another tire that I had great results with are the Bridgestone AT Revos. By far the best tire I ever had. They are a bit more money but great traction and they wore great, almost 70,000. They were almost slicks but what a tire. Wal-mart carries them now with big discounts.

Great and dependable looking tire there Stewart but beings their a softer compound like my Yoko Geolanders ATS's, Its not looking like I'm going to get the miles out of these that I had with my last set. What kinda miles are those Toyo's good for?? With proper inflation and tire rotations??

The Tuff Duty's? Or the Open Country's?
The AT Open Country's wear faster than the HT's do.
I got over 60k+ on two AT's and over 70k+ on two HT's.
