I have a 95 f150 302 and I'm trying to give it more hp. It has a catback exhaust and I'm not sure what the next step should be. I want the most bang for my buck without killing my mpg. Any advice?
Long tube headers & free flowing exhaust is a good place to start , a good tune up , autolite coppers , MSD cap wires & coil , advance the timing a few degress......Lew
You should look the Windsor engines part of the forum, there is a wealth of info regarding performance there. Btw, did you try the six litre tune up already? it's a cheap/fast way to gain some more power.
You probably have a MAF setup there, so cam choices will be even better, i would ask Conanski about a good setup, i guess it all depends on money and time.
This is a good mod that can help and it is easy to put on. The intake tube goes right on the original box relocating where the cold air goes into it. Just a thought.
sounds like your just looking for some more HP , nothing major , what kind of truck is it , 2wd or 4wd , if you don't want to go LT, shortys will work ok you just need a better y pipe , the Ho cam may be a good choice , if you want to change cams , gearing is very important on the 302 , it makes better hp in the higher rpms , underdrive pulleys & e fan will help take a load off the engine & help power & fuel mileage....

Depending on the valve lift ? , valve springs . Roller rockers are nice to go with your roller cam , you can even go from 1.6 to 1.7 ratio to give the cam more lift....Lew
The stock rocker ratio is 1.6 so if you use 1.7 or 1.72 it will give the cam more lift , i use the 1.72 rockers on an E 303 cam & made a good difference....
