Some, including myself, have swapped in the air intake tube from a I6 or 7.5L engine. That tube pulls in air from directly behind the grille instead of the snorkel that runs up between the radiator support and hood on the 5.0/5.8L equipped truck
I purchased this KN airfilter #33-2023 and air intake tube F3TZ-9A675-B both new. I then upgraded my truck keeping the original parts. I have since sold the truck and now have both of these to sell.
They are both used but like new however you will need to oil the filter there is some oil included.
The picture shows all included it is all you need to upgrade your current truck. I can email pics.
