4R44E No reverse
My Dad has a 99 Ranger 2.5L with 288k miles, auto transmission (4R44E).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Reverse is out, from what I can gather he did not notice it gradually going out as it would when the reverse servo o-rings go bad over time, nor was there any noise associated with the failure. It worked fine on day then nothing, all forward gears work in Drive. He did not check manual low 1st gear; I know it shares the same servo as reverse so that would be a good indicator of the bad servo. Now the starter is out so I can’t start to troubleshoot yet. <o></o>

Does this sound like a linkage problem to anyone else? If it is the reverse servo does anyone have a part number for what I will need to change it?<o></o>
