RAB/RAN: Light Duty Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncro trans / RAT: Medium Duty Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncro trans.
No such thing as an FMX until 1969. Mainly installed in misc Passenger Cars thru 1985. The only Ford trucks that used an FMX were 1973/77 F350's with 300 I-6's.
1965/67 F100/350 352 & 1965/72 F350 300 I-6 used MX Cruise-O-Matic.
Go to a parts store and ask for a trans filter/gasket for an FMX, you'll be PO'd when you find out neither is correct.
The MX filter is larger, the MX pan has a notch in it, so no FMX pan gasket will fit it.
The MX pan gasket (B5SZ-7A191-A) was also used in 1955/57 Thunderbird's with Ford-O-Matic, but the F-O-M filter is not the same as the MX.
RAB-A / The other transmission is from a 1974 F100 w/a 360: RAT-CH2RAT-CH1 & CH2 = D3TZ-7003-G .. Ford type 3.03 3 Speed Manual Medium Duty all Syncromesh Transmission / Original applications: 1973/74 F100 360 116" wheelbase.
The extension housings & output shafts are specific to a short or long wheelbase.
