so i replaced just one of my pistons and i think that the dish depth in the top of the piston was deeper on the one that i put in. is that going to make a difference when i go to start my truck when i am done. what could happen by running it like this? is it bad?

You need to do a comperssion test and might see a difference. Maybe a little different feeling in motor, slight vibration. IF close on weight should do OK. I know its not the perfered way to do things but you got to do what you have to some times. was the crank journal smooth or slightly rough? Why the piston change. What was your piston clearance? these are the things I need to know. Did you mic crank or plastigage or anything on rod?? curious to know what you found.
i replaced the piston because i got water in my carb and it got into the number 8 cylinder and bent the rod bound and cracked the piston. every other one was still good and turned very smooth so i just replaced the one piston and rod. im not sure if they were close on weight i never thought to check that. the crank journal was still very smooth. i felt around on everything i could while checking everything and it all felt good. the only thing to show any signs of damage were the piston and rod i replaced. i didnt do anything except swap the rod piston and rod bearings on the one cylinder. what is plastigage
