clutch package
need part numbers for a heavy duty cluth for a 87 b-2 2.9 with the fm-146 tranny, would one from the ranger 4.0 work? i do a lot of pulling a boat and need something that will last longer than the stock clutch disk setup

It has been posted and tech articles writen on the 4.0 clutch up grade on other sites. The indication is that the trans bell housings with an internal slave will all work. But as with most stuff your on your own when doing mods. The early TK trans bell housing with the external slave has been said to be too small to accept the larger 4.0 clutch and preasure plate and flywheel. The later TK and FM with internal slave are said to work.
