Rear interior panels

I have a 2003 F250 Crew Cab. I want to replace the stock factory rear speakers. Can anyone advise me on how to remove the panels to access the speakers. I ahve already replaced the front door speakers.

Thanks for any help.

Correct me if I am wrong: there will be two screws, one near the handle and one behind the reflector. Remove them and snap out the window switch panel and lift the panel up and off.

Rear speakers

You are correct as far as the front door panels go. That I already did. I am trying to find out how to remove the rear pillar trim panels to access the rear speakers.

If it is anything like front panels, there are just numerous clips.

removing rear panels

I just replaced the rear speakers in my '99 F-350 Crew Cab. It might be the same or at least similar.

Flip up the plastic cover over the shoulder belt attachment and unbolt it (I think it's a T50...I didn't have one so I just used vise grips to undo them).

With the seat belt out of the way, the rest of the rear panel just unclips. I had to unclip the plastic "running board" that's next to the rear door, since that panel slides underneath that. You might not need to, but that panel unclips pretty easily as well. And have a shop-vac handy because if it was like mine, you'll probably see some accumulated dirt and crud in the channel that you might as well clean up.

With that panel out of the way, there's your speaker. Same 7 or 8 mm bolts holding it in as the front door speakers, so you should be all set.

All in all, it was alot quicker to do those than the front since it doesn't involve removing the door panel, undoing the power connections for locks/windows/mirrors/etc. and working around the dust-shield.

All done, just clip the panel back in place carefully, making sure it all lines back up. Re-attach the seat belt bolt (not sure about proper torque, but in an accident, the forces on that would be shear forces anyway and it's not likely to yank out, so nice and snug should be good...consult a Haynes for proper torquing if you're concerned).
