Having the PSD in my F-250, to the tires have to be load range "E"? I have been told they could be load range "D" or "E". I am looking at BF Goodrich M/T but they only offer load range "D". What is the true spec for PSD tires? Any tire recomendations? This post may belong in another forum, but it is a diesel specific question.
I think more important than the load range D or E is the load rating in terms of lbs. The BFG MT/KM are very good tires and a lot of people run them on their PSD trucks.
Click Here to see the specs for those tires, go to page 2.
The load rating , D or E depends on the load that the tire will carry. E will offer more load capacity, because the sidewalls are constructed better/stiffer. D will offer a softer ride, but at less load capacity, make sure that you don't overload them. If you have a single rear wheel, and the load rating for the tire is 1500lbs, that means that you could carry 3000 lbs on that axle. Providing that the rest of your suspension is up for the task. You will have to do the math and see what your load is (do you use a trailer?) The tire manufacter should be able to tell you what the safe load is for the class tire you are interested in. Hope that helps you.

I have the 235/85 BFG's on my truck but in All-Terrains. I love 'em, but they're narrow enough you'll not have flotation in the soft stuff. I got mine from Costco, saved a bunch and you can't beat their warantee.
In fact, I just looked at the chart (linked above) and noticed that the 235/85's "E" are rated at 3042 lbs @80 psi. The 285/75's "D" are rated at 3305 lbs @ 65 psi. If I would have noticed that before, I would have the 285's on my truck. I like the bigger tire.
