Riffraff FRx install

I was wondering how difficult the install is for Riffraffs FRx. It says its a true bolt on kit, but how hard is it and how long does it take to do? Are there any tips or tricks to the install? Thanks

Just did it on Saturday, not too hard at all. Took about an hour, but I wasnt rushing by any means.
When you pull the fuel return line, tie it back as far as possible. This will help getting the block installed with the spring centered.
Also, on the directions it stated to use a 5/16 socket / box end wrench to remove the plugs on the heads. I found that an 11/32 - 12pt wrench worked best.
Take your time and take a break here and there as you will be in some funny positions trying to get the plug out of the back of the block.

Well worth it, smoothed out my idle nicely.

Actually, I think he may have sent it to me.
Here is a recap though (im sure i will miss something, hopefully others will chime in):
1 - drain fuel bowl
2 - remove fuel return line on drive side of bowl, pull back and tie off
3 - carefully remove the outlet on the fuel bowl (2 - #27 torx bolts). As it comes off be careful to catch the spring and possibly the plunger assembly
4 - place spring in the center of the FRx block (there is a cutout for it)
5 - Replace the o-ring with the one in the package
6 - install the block with the new included allen head bolts (a bit longer than the origionals) making sure to keep the spring and plunger centered. This is the difficult part.
7 - re-install the fuel return line
8 - Remove the intake and place a clean rag in the turbo inlet
9 - pull the plug on the rear driver side head. It is the ~1/4" square head bolt located on the very back of the driver side head, just below the valve cover toward the valley (right agains the firewall) - this is where the 11/32 - 12pt wrench comes in handy
10 - install the NPT fitting where the plug came out, then install the longer of the two hoses to it. This is supposed to by high temp hose so routing close to the turbo shouldnt be a problem.
11 - repeat 9 and 10 on the passanger side head. The bolt this time is on the very front of the block and is hidden by a sensor wiring harness. On my truck it was just below the A/C compressor bracket (I have dual alternators). It was helpful for me to take the belt off, unbolt the compressor and move it as far as I could with the hoses still attached.

This should have you covered.
A couple of notes, it stated to use lock tight on the threads that attach the hose to the nipple, but not the nipple to the block.
It also stated that on the 99's you may have to grind the up-pipes going to the turbo.

Hope this helps.

Here's what I used, compliments of Spdmpo Keith. One thing, I didn't loosen the fuel bowl, got away without doing that. I had more of a problem with the fuel plug on the passenger side more than ever but it came out eventually. Clicky https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...installed.html

is it just me or is this near impossible to install the passenger side fuel line if you have riffraff air plenums installed....

I just have the stock Plenums, but looking at the design, I was thinking it would be very hard to get either the Passenger or Driver side connected.
