There are more than a dozen holes down the top of the bedsides under the plastic rails. They are also pretty uneven, it would require welding the holes up and doing some bodywork to get the tops straight. I'll get a picture of my 'spare' bed and try to post it tomorrow, I was really surprised when I saw what it looks like without the plastic. Pretty bad when you can't take those cheap crappy plastic rails off to get it sprayed. The tailgate is almost as bad.
Well it sounds like my hand is pretty much forced. That sucks.
I'd still like to see the pictures, though. Thanks for your input.
Justin - something I did was pulled the liner out, sprayed it up to the rail and replaced the plastic rails with diamond plate chrome rails. Looks sweet as hell! I've also tinted my liner with the base coat of the paint I painted the truck with so it matches.

I might be interested in those chrome diamond plate rail covers. Where'd you get 'em?
You might want to ask the Line-X guy what he does in those situations. I'm sure we're not the only truck that have holes like that. If they're small, I'm thinking they can simply spray over the gap with no problems. The stuff goes on 1/4" thick IIRC, so it should bridge over a decent hole without an issue.

Believe it or not EBAY. They have 2 types, ones that replace the plastic rails and ones that cover then. I replaced them. Theyre only about 30 bucks. The matching tailgate cover is on backorder so waitin on that still.

If you can post a link or give me a company name that would be great. The only ones I've been able to find are the style that stick on top of the stock plastic with double sided tape. That seems pretty cheesy to me; if they don't clip in at the stock locations I don't want 'em.
Small update for everybody... I traded emails with the shop earlier this week, and called this afternoon to make an appointment. They gave me quotes for under and over the rails, then immediately followed with "the plastic rail covers are not made to be removed". So that reinforces the notion that the only real option is under the rails.
The appointment is Wednesday the 25th. The under-rail price is $419. I'll be sure to post pictures after it's all done. He also said they remove the bed bolts, so I won't have to cut them back out afterward.

Sorry I missed this post. I have the stick on ones. But I riveted them on the inside of the rail too. I don't know if you're going to find any that mount in the factory holes.
I have the Rhino liner and love it. Nothing slides on it and is softer the the liner-X IMO. Sprayed over bed bolts but not the tail gate bolts. Makes it easer to get in a lub or whatever the tail gate handle. I have one cut in mine where they TRIED to slide a pallet of pellets in when I told them it wouldn't slide.
