Bed rail caps or spray on caps?

The previous owner installed a cheap drop in liner that warped up off the bed rails so the genius drilled in some self tapping screws through the liner rail cap into the bed rails. I'd like to lose the plastic liner and have spray in liner installed. There are toolbox holes in the bed rails also. Never had a spray in bed liner before and not sure if it would look better to cap the rails with the liner product or metal rails. Any recommendations?

Personally I prefer the metal rails with spray in liner just in the bed.

There is a local shop here (Truck Options) that does spray in liners. They want 400 to do the interior of the bed and another 90 to go over the rails. Just not sure what I think about the liner material up and over the rail. Who makes a good looking metal rail cap in something that looks better than diamond plate? Also would like to get some good recessed tie downs that mount in the bed rail holes.

Maybe these?
1994 Ford F250 Putco Stainless Steel Bed Rail Caps - Fast Shipping, Low Prices

I would paint them.

If you go plastic, I'd shoot for this style.

go with spray on. over the rails. and put metal rails on top. if you go with only metal rails and none under it it will rub paint off.

here is mine

I use tape under the aluminum bed caps. It cushions the caps.

Ya and that stuff sticks like no other. My dad just got some used stainless steel bed caps with the stake holes for the 90 F150 and it took him an hour to get off they were 3m taped on.

Personally I would save the plastic ones for the newer trucks. I would never put plastic ones on any of my 87-96 trucks but all day I would put them on our 10 F150 (already has them) or my brother's 96 ranger.

I vote for having the screw and bolt holes welded in and smoothed and doing a spray in liner over the rails. I'm not a fan of bed caps at all. They have always done more damage (rust) than they did to protect anything. I have had both and the plastic ones are really flimsy. I'd go with the aluminum ones, if you decide on bed caps.
