Transmission Gage

I have a 2002 F-250 Super Duty 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. Last week the Transmission gage instead of starting at low and going to normal running temp went directly to normal running temp. Went to Ford Dealer and they said the solenoid valve body was bad so they replaced it. Next day started it up and same thing happened. What could be the trouble.

There is no trouble. It's normal.

The gauge is calibrated to be in the middle of normal when the transmission is warmer than 50°F and cooler than 229°F.

An aftermarket transmission temp gauge is a quick and easy install if you're worried about getting an accurate temp reading. The factory gauge is basically an idiot light, it only goes red when something has already gone wrong.

If you get an electronic temp gauge, it's as simple as putting a sensor into the transmission and hooking up a few wires. You can get a pod to put where the grab handle is on the drivers side a-pillar, it's a very clean install.

I have no idea. I just know how the stock gauge works.

My transmission gauge does that during the summer months. In cooler weather it will drop overnight. During the summer, I have to let the truck sit for a couple days before the temp gauge will drop.
