Can someone tell me what color the original stock wheels are supposed to be for stock wheels on a 67 f100? I've got the wheels with the small silver hub caps. Thanks!
Darrin
I've wondered about that too. Were all of the steel rims white from the factory, regardless of the color of the truck?
My '67 F100 is white overall, and has what I assume are the factory rims, which are also white. It had the small dog dish caps on it when I bought it. I've since put on a set of the '67 Galaxie type large hubcaps, which were an option and look nice on there. But the white of the rim still shows around the outside.
My truck didn't come with a spare, so I'm looking for one or two spare rims/tires, preferably in the factory white color.
If anyone here in the Los Angeles area has an extra or two, let me know.
Guys, I just spent a ton of time looking into this and the consensus over at Fordification is that the correct wheel color for the 15" and 16.5" wheels with dog dish center hubcaps is "Corinthian White". Wimbledon White is a slightly different color. Corinthian white is also used on earlier white bumpers and grills. It is a slightly cream or off-white color, I also know this because i was touching up the wheels on my stock '72 F250 and I was using the most off-white rustoleum color I could get and the original (the first color layer above the primer when I sanded) was still more cream than the Rustoleum. Cheers, Patrick in San Diego.
