ECT this past week.

Towed for the first time this past week, approx. 8900 lbs. travel trailer plus gear.

Didn't get a chance to put on the new MBRP exhaust before I left as XDP sent me 1/2 an exhaust kit from two different kits. But I did try out my flashpaq tuner by superchips. Made a big difference.

I also was using a scangauge II while pulling. It had my ect @ 220 at the highest. This was usually on a long hill run or steep grade.
From most of the threads this seems to be a high temp. Cooler was replaced about 6,000 miles ago from what I understand. I also did the flush before we left and installed the coolant filter.

Curious on thoughts about the high temp. Exhaust and triple gauge is being installed tuesday. ECT, Boost and Pyro.

That temp isn't outrageous.

Is your radiator clean (no dirt in the fins)?

Did your fan come on?

What coolant are you using?

Radiator looked clean. Did he vc-9 flush and filled with ford gold coolant not less than 10 days ago. Fins fairly clean I did do my share a kill a few bugs this past week. Fan came on quite a bit as it was warm high 80's low 90's for most of the trip. My fan comes on quite a bit when driving. Usually at around 205-206 or so.

ECT isn't the only parameter that brings on the fan. The EOT is a big contributor and there are a few other items. 205 to 206 is not whats bringing the fan on. I would be interested in seeing your eot/ect spreads.

Well I don't have any spreads yet, that is about to change though.
Having a mbrp turbo back exhaust and the edge evolution cs installed next week. Too much guessing just from the scanguage II and what it can tell.

The ScanGauge ll can give you those spreads without guessing. You are not using your gauges to their capacity!

I have a similar ECT reading. Pulling up a grade today for only 5 miles with a truckcamper on it gave around ECT220* with EOT 230*. The spread with 10* is still accepable I think but the ECT with 220 seems above the recommended temperatures and near the alarm limit according to Bismic's temperature list.
Also while driving in the city with a spread of 5* the ECT goes up to 212* and then I can hear the fan kicking in. Then the temperatur goes down to around 200 and the EOT following slowly from 217 to 208*.
Is this ok or is there anything wrong, perhaps the thermostat?

i had a thermostat stick open last winter causing a no-heat condition, so to rule it out just replace, @ 20 bucks or so it won't cost you too much to find out

With out actually seeing the time lapse parameters your spreads and temps sound acceptable to me.
