For the techs: Do you see amny RMS that leak on these motors? I have seen threads on them, but seems most are something else that was bad not the RMS.
I am pulling my tranny this weekend and wondering if I should mess with it if mine is not leaking now. I do have oil seeping from somewhere, but doesn't seem to be from there. Will now for sure his weekend, but if mine is good should I leave it alone? Can you install one with no special tools?
I had 3 in my first 30,000 miles. One was a redo by a not-so-great tech. 70k miles later, no issues again. There is always kind of a light smear of oil on the pan, but it has mostly never dripped onto the floor. When it did once, it was a CAC boot gone bad. The 3rd one, the stealership I usually go to did not have a certain tool to do it, so I went to the other guy in town, so it likely needs some unique tool.
