Weird Chirping sound at 10mph or less after I realease the brake

I am getting a weird noise. Sounds like metal on metal, Chirping noise after I release the brake and drive at speeds 10mph or less. I've had it in the shop and the mechanic says he doesn't hear it and he said rotors and brakes look good, just a little bit of rust, but I have had 3 other people in the truck and they have heard it. Any ideas as to what it could be. It sounds like it may be coming from the back end.

Again, you have a vaccum issue. It is possibly a vacuum line at or near your booster. I would do a thorough inspection of your vacuum systems.

Would I just bring it into the mechanic and ask them to do a full inspection of the vacuum systems? I dont know much about the inner workings of my truck.

Don't worry, you will soon enough. These are great trucks. Stay with this forum and you will be OK. In the mean time, if you trust your mechanic, let him check it out.

You say the noise sounds like it is coming from the rear. You might want to get the drive shaft u-joints checked. I had a 99 that sounded like a bird chirping @ low speeds. Turned out to be bad u-joints. Just my $.02.

If its coming from the rear you may also wanna check to see if the parking brake shoes have come apart. They are behind the rear rotor and use the rotor hat as a drum. I have seen this a time or two and it may be worth checking for.
