I work at a car dealer ship and we just got an explorer or expedition in with a westiin bull bar on it. My boss said he can sell it to me for $50 so i was wondering if it would bolt up to my 05 f150 or how much i would have to mod it to make it fit. It looks pretty close to fitting width wise. Since its such a good deal i didnt really want to turn it down unlesss its gonna be a total pain to make it fit so i figured i'd ask.
Its sounds like a nice find and would look good on your truck. I have been looking at them for a while now but I have been leaning more towards a black bull bar for my truck along with maybe black runners to replace the chrome ones down the side. Gives a nice look to the truck.
coskid- just be ready to do maintenance on the black bars.I love the way they look and have had them on multiple vehicles over the years. every one of them got rusty and needed to be removed, sanded, and repainted/powdercoated. sometimes every year.we do get snow, salt, and sand here in ct so that added to it,but just be aware that you may need to put in extra time to the black bars and steps.
i now only buy stainless. extra $ up front but pays off with lazyness in the longrun
I had a black brush guard on my Jeep for about 6-7 years of the time that i owned the vehicle and I only had a problem on the grill covers in front of the head lights. The rest of it was as good the day it was put on when I sold it. I would guess it has to do with the weather more where you are but thanks for the warning i will have to make sure it is powdercoated and not just painted.
