Help with my differential
I just purchased a 2003 F350 CC 7.3 Lariat Fx4. I need to replace both pinion seals as they are leaking (fresh oil and dripping). While looking things over I noticed the rear differential has what looks like a sensor that has a plug in to it. The plug/sensor is located towards the top front of the differential and looks like it has 2 wires.
Can anyone tell me what this is?

It's a VSS sensor, it reads the speed of the ring gear on the carrier and sends it to the computer, and somehow gets compared with the sensor on the transmission to derive the readout on the speedometer.
