Good evening guys, how was your weekend? Mine, busy of course.
We went and looked at this camper today. 1994 jayco eagle travel trailer
All in all, not a bad camper at all, it is in pretty good shape for a 94, IMO. The thing I am not sure about is the price, is the asking price too high? I do know it is priced quite a bit above book value according to NADA, which I have found to be the case with about 95% of campers for sale out there today. I know, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Work half a day today at a trade show. I think I spoke with 2 customers in 5 hrs.
I'll bet that made the day go by slow, didn't it. Kinda like the day I 'worked" Farm Tech days this year for my FIL, we had about 5 people stop in over an 8 hour day.
I'm odd man out around here with campers. I couldn't tell you anything about value. But, I'd say he's optimistic about pulling a 30' anything with a 1/2 ton p/u.
Mike, I've found that most of the time a good camper will go for more than book. If it's nice, and in good shape, and worth it to you...
I think if you could offer $4000, you'd have a steal myself...
Hey Eric, yeah a 30' can be pulled by a half ton, but it will be a much nicer pull with a 3/4 or 1 ton.
Thanks Dave, I just called the seller, firm on price right now.
That's what I've been seeing too, most campers in good shape sell for more than book. Of course, Tanya seems to think we should go for it anyway at $4500. What to do, what to do??? I am just concerned with getting a return on investment a couple years down the road, don't really want to take it in the shorts too bad.
Well, in all reality you shouldn't. I mean, I've been watching what they've been going for and how it all works out. My deal on my camper was goofy cause I traded the ATV for it. But in reality I paid $4700 for it if you go by their asking price. It was an even trade, and I had far less into the ATV. I could sell it today, and probably for a little more with the few things I did to it...
So if you like the camper, and the few extra dollars over what you'd really like to pay is still "okay" then I'd go for it. They won't get much cheaper than now, and to start the season, they will cost more. Do something like bring $4,500 with you, but show him $4,300 and say it's what you got. $4,300 in front of him may make him move...
We did. It started bad with some unexpected hiccups on Friday, then we got home to find out someone broke into my garage in the back. Thankfully, nothing disappeared...
That's good that camping was fun, sorry you had some hiccups on Friday and got broke into while you were gone. Damn thieves anyway, well they weren't much of a thief if they didn't steal anything.
Most likely, but it still sucks that they have to do that. Did they damage anything?
I volunteered myself to pull the Boy Scout float in the parade this year in town. Now, I really want to get that other box put on my truck and get rid of all that ugly rust.
EDIT: Good night Dave, should probably hit the rack myself.
