Good afternoon guys, it's a good day to be in the AC.
I had an interesting development today. While driving to my father in laws this morning, I noticed a grinding, banging noise coming from the driver side front wheel. At first, I thought it was worn out brake pads, but with only about 6000 miles on them that didn't seem possible. I stuck my head in the wheelwell and looked at the caliper, that is when I noticed the upper caliper bracket mounting bolt was GONE The grinding I heard was the caliper rubbing on the wheel weights. Luckily, when I noticed it I was only about 3 block from a Ford dealer(Hudson,WI) and they had a bolt in stock. I will now remove the remaining 3, put on some MORE blue locktite and torque them down.
It could have been worse, the lower bolt could have been the one to fall out, which would have caused the caliper to bite into the wheel really hard while braking, and possibly messing up a wheel, caliper, brake line or all of the above.

Well you might be seeing a little more of me on here. I blew out my knee last night, ruptured patella tendon. It's what connects your knee cap to your shin, so with that disconnected I cannot extend my lower leg by my self. It's in an immobilizer right now to keep it straight.
I have a Orthopedic appointment at 2:00 today, that is just semantics though I will be having surgery asap. It's pretty invasive surgery too, they can't do it arthroscopic and it sounds like a long recovery, 6 weeks in an immobilizer with no weight bearing and only passive therapy. Should be good as new in 6 months.
So I just ordered myself up a laptop, so I can use the computer while my leg is straight out in front of me, kinda tough to sit at a desk.
Oh, and for those wondering how I did it, I was jumping on the trampoline with my kids, from what I've read it was ready to let go at anytime.
OUCH!!!! Hope the surgery goes well and you recover completely and quickly.
Hey guys!! Well I made it up there and back. I was the second camper in line this morning so I got our usual spot. We are heading back up there tomorrow morning sometime and then the real fun begins!! haha
Lee glad to hear you can make the gtg!
Mike you seem to have the worst luck when it comes to brakes! Glad you were able to get it fixed quickly!
Well I am off for now to get a few things done but I will check back later.
Hey Jason! Somehow I deleted in my other post my response to you getting hurt. It has been a long day with little sleep. So sorry to hear about your injury. I dislocated my knee many years ago and I know how that hurt so I can't imagine how bad that hurt! I hope all goes well with your surgery tomorrow!! I will check back this week when I am gone to see if you have posted an update! Good luck!!

I tell ya, if these vehicles didn't need brakes, every F-ing one of mine would not have them.
At least it happened today and not this weekend or next when I was towing the camper.
