There's a problem with posting Ford parts numbers, because Ford updates 10's of 1000's of part numbers every year.
Is the part number still viable or not?
Type it into FTE sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM aka Y2KFORDPARTS.COM website.
If the number has been updated recently, the website will (usually) give the new part number.
If you get: No parts found, the number was replaced quite a few years ago, the part is obsolete, the part number is wrong, or you typed it wrong.
When typing Ford part numbers into websites, REMOVE any spaces or hyphens > > >
This is correct: F2TZ17626A / This is not correct: F2TZ-17626-A
NOTE: Numbers marked on parts are Ford ID engineering numbers, not Ford part numbers.
There are no actual Ford part numbers marked on any parts after 1956.
That is very true about changing parts numbers. Easiest thing to do is to give the number you have to your friendly Ford parts counter and they can usually figure out what part they are. Course your parts man might not be able to handle it so you might need to look around for the right one. Thankfully I have one of those Good parts counters. Course having online access to the Ford Parts catalog and Repair manuals helps too....
Did not know that the parts numbers can change. Whats the reason for that?
When you find out, let me know...it's more than just ridiculous.
For example, the 240/300 I-6 exhaust manifold used on 1965/72 Galaxie/LTD 240's, 1965/74 F100/350 240's and 1965/83 F100/350 300's had EIGHT different part numbers.
Here's my fav-o-rite example: B-1012 .. Lug Nut was replaced by: B-1012-A, COAZ-1012-A, C9AZ-1012-A, E6DZ-1012-A & E8TZ-1012-B.
This means the same lug nut that fits a Little Deuce Coupe also fits many Ford passenger cars 1933/1995 including Taurus/Sable's and 1932/96 trucks, and a gazillion other applications in between 1932 and 2002.
People look at Ford part number prefixes, then think that's the exact year & type of truck (or car)...the part fits. Nothing could be further from the truth.
numberdummy's right, ID numbers are not part numbers.
It's a nice list Tim.
and if you do need to check a price for part number remove any dash/space when inputting into my/any site and use caps. EXAMPLE F2TZ17626A like Bill has listed.
any problems just use the contact us link off my web site and I'll see if I can figure it out.
being a FTE sponsor I appreciate any part purchases anyone can send my way!
