fuel pump cavitation

I think I'm experiencing it. I have more of a rough idle the lower I get on fuel and my high pressure fuel pump gets louder. It sounds like there is air in the line. How does this typically happen on these trucks and whats the fix?

Could be a bad hose inside the fuel tank or maybe the fuel pump inside the tank has quit working and you are just running off the high pressure pump.
