Wiring Troubles

My driver side door master switch control has a broken wire somewhere. If I wiggle the rubber booty between the door and the frame I can make things work, otherwise, window and door switches don't work unless door is closed. Is there a common place where a rub occurs? Or, is this just a joyous day spent tracing wires?

Wires fail in doors where they are flexed. Open up the rubber boot between the door and the A pillar and find the wire(s) with the open (the broken wires that fatigued from being flexed a bunch) with either a DVOM or a test light and solder in a replacement. Take a dap of silicon and fill the holes in the insolation you made with either your test light or DVOM and rewrap the electrical tape. When you splice in a new bit of wire, make certain you use stranded wire and think a little about how that new wire will flex from opening and closing the door because you do not want the "flexing to happen where you solder or the wire will fail quickly.

FWIW, auto techs love door work.
