PS I realize this post is a little old but I think it would be cool to meet some people who like this kind of trucks as well.

Resurrecting the dead:

April is already filled up for me but what about May or June for a gathering? Seems like a bunch of folks in the sandhills area. Also kind of centrally located for the group. We could meet at the Rock and catch some drag racing. Or at another strip like where 93markIII suggested. We could try to find a car/truck show and meet there. Or find a decent restaurant and talk trucks. We could get a group rate at rush hour karting in Garner. Raise a little go-kart hell then go eat. Lots of folks and options. We have two months to plan something. Certainly we should be able to firm up some plans and make something happen.

Lets get some ideas rolling and start to narrow them down with a date.

Or I could just have a gathering of one and talk to myself.

That would be fun. They had a restaurant in Rush Hour last time I was there. If we get enough people, they would probably do a group event practice-qualify-race if that's what everyone wanted to do.

Just about any time and place works for me.
Anybody going to The Rock for the Spring Civil Wars April 8,9,&10?
If so look me up. I'am easy to find, just look for the old guy with the white beard, riding a little blue scooter standing up. Most times were set up on the tower side next to the staging lanes.

It may be hot as two mice in a wool sock but I propose a gathering:

Date: Saturday, August 20th
Time: 10a.m.ish to 2p.m.ish
Where: Downtown Asheboro, N.C.

There is a long standing antique car and truck show that day and there is no charge to check out all the cool old rides.
Zooland AACA

I figure we can meet up at an eatery for an early lunch. Meet and greet. Talk fords. Then if anyone wants we can hit the car show till we drop from heat stroke.

I don't expect folks from the far west or far east to show but maybe enough central NC folks could make the short drive.

I could provide a prize for the furthest drive. I'll have stickers for everyone.

The zoo is right there so you could bring the family and hit the zoo in the afternoon.

Any other/better ideas? It's just a month away. It'll be here before we know it.

If there is enough interest then we can figure out a place and time to meet and eat. I figure even if five show it would be worth the time and drive. First five to sign up get free stickers.

Sounds like a winner to me.
And I propose we meet at the Sagebrush Steakhouse on Dixie Dr, Asheboro.
By the way, I should be at Piedmont Dragway the sat. before for the KOTS race. If anyone else is going lets meet up.

No one interested besides fuzzy?

Everybody on vacation? The date doesn't work? Too far away? Too hot?

Suggestions?

Bueller? Bueller?

Seems a lot of folks have been inactive for a bit. 06silvercrew is probably wrapped up with family life. Maybe contact IBtim and ask about chapter info.

Sorry. Can't make the 25th. Still hoping a few will show on the 20th. Meeting at the Sagebrush Steakhouse on Dixie Dr, Asheboro. Then headed to the car show down the street.

Ya'll going to let fuzzy win all the door prizes? Good thing he has a big ford truck to haul all his free gear away.

Seriously? No one else interested?

06silvercrew; bring the burb. We won't razz you, too much.

I can't make the Asheboro date, but can the next weekend in Concord. Is any one setting anything up for the 25-28?
