Hi Guys. Got my eye on a '07 F350 Lariat SC LB 6.0 with 40K miles. Still under warranty for another couple years. Heading in to get an Oasis report.
Are there any red flags I should look for pertaining to the 6.oh oh?
Thanks
S
Good luck in your search for a truck!
Yes there are many red flags with the 6.0! Start with an OASIS report and that will tell you all of the repairs that have been done to the truck. Then once you have that info you can make an educated decision on whether or not to buy that truck! You need to gt any info that you can on maintenance that was done to the truck also! You looking for oil change frequency and fuel filter chanes that won every 10 to 12K miles.
ok so Ill give you the bad news. You need to find out why this truck has got milage listed in kilometers this is a bad thing. if its from anyplace but the usa there is no ford warranty on it.
you need to know why it was bought at auction and what condition it was in. this stricks me a totaled unit by flood/theft/ or wreck. I could be wrong.
if you dont get awnsers then please walk a way.
I was goning to run the vin and see what it came up as. and this make me even wonder more as its one of the few trucks listed w/o a vin number.

hope this helps.... my.02 anyway.
No Ford warranty? Not sure if its your sense of humor. If so, I don't get it. They do sell Fords up here in Canada and yes we even have warranties.
I have the VIN and will be running an Oasis report Monday. They are not obligated to publish the VIN.
It was a 3 year lease return from Ford Credit bought at the auction. A lot of dealers around here do that if their inventory of late model cars are low.
Can I request we keep this thread on track with my original request? What should I look for pertaining to the 6.0.
sorry my bad I was thinking for some reason that the truck was here in the USA. my post even refers to that. didnt know you were in canada.
just food for though. if the truck is bought in canada and taken to the usa it has no warranty here. and vise versa.
also assuming the above the post was in line and not off topic.
you need to look at eot/ect temps, signs of puking from the degas tank. look at engine hours. 25xhours= real engine mileage based on hours. lots of hours are bad.

No harm, no foul.
EOT/ECT temps? That info would be where?
I know where to get the engine hours. Thanks, that will be quite informative.
being that is not your truck. you would need a scan tool that can moniter data and you would watch it on a road test. But the fact its still under warranty makes it less important as you would have plenty of time to get it fixed.
The fact it still has at least 2 years of engine warranty left makes me feel pretty comfortable and also the dealer is giving a 6 month/3000 mile bumper to bumper warranty as well.
Only problem is it's 200 miles away so I just can't get up and go see it that easily.
