Are You Worried???

does this whole terrorism/war issue even bother you?

me??? HECK NO.

in hindsight though---- i should have bought stock in the duct-tape market. the government has started a duct tape buying frensy, by telling people to duct tape and plastic wrap their windows in case of a BIO-attack. naturally the paranoid Americans flocked like sheep to the hardware stores, not realizing that the method will cut off incoming air, and suffocate them.

STOCK FOOD? not me, if it comes down to it; I WILL EAT MY NEIGHBOORS DOG. ( note MY dog will not be eaten ) after that ill hunt wild animals. that dog is asking for it.... crap in my yard?? does it not know who its messing with???

i DID however fill up my gas tank on my truck, at a disgraceful $ 1.76 per gallon price tag. but thats ok, we need gas, prices do unfortunatly go up, ( supply and demand ) although i dont think theres any need to jack up fuel prices, other than GREED.

ARM YOURSELF ? Dang right i did. well, ive always had guns, but i did go out and spend $40.00 on bullets today. if the S*!* hits the fan, my rifles will be laying out hollow-points. Terrorism or not i always try to have a few hundred rounds in the house.

WATER ???? well, theres snow to melt for drinking water where i live, so if any attacks occur at the city water facilities, im not worried....

so.... what is your opinion ??

Are You Worried???

It bothers me, for the simple fact that I'm 17, and turning 18 in October, and therefore, if they re-enforce the draft, away I go. Not that I have a problem in serving, I feel that I have the right to serve our country, and give back what our fallen brothers have given us (freedom). If I do get drafted, I'll need someone to look after my truck while I'm gone, since I can't take it with me lol

Are You Worried???

i wouldnt sweat about a draft-

dont get me wrong- im not telling you to AVOID the draft, but there are loopholes i have "heard" one ive heard of is that if you are the only male child of the family, they cant take you. i dont know how true it is.

if i get drafted i will go, i just hope i would get to pick which branch of service i pick. only problems i have, are all my bills- stump grinder and truck payment for my business, my four wheeler payment, snowmobile, i dont want to have to sell everything.

I am the only "male" child, with no siblings. And I feel the same way - In that if we DO get drafted, that we get to pick what branch of the military we want to go in. My friend just signed up for the Air Force last October, and he ships out this September. The same Sgt. that called my friend to persuade him to join the armed services, is now calling my house as well (trying to recruit as much of us as they can) Oh well. Its eather the Coast Guard, or Air Force for me IF and only IF I get drafted.

There is not going to be a draft. There will not be a need for one.

Like ULTRAMAGDAN said there is no need for a draft! I do commend you young guys for saying you have no problem with being drafted.. I myself am 37 yrs old and it's good to see young fella's saying that in this day and time..With all the anti-military brain washing liberal professors out there bad mouthing and critisizing the U.S. today. You fella's do have patriotism without being brainwashed by Hollyweird and their lefties like mr. baldwin,clooney,sarandon,3/4ths of our college professors and the LIBERAL news media....Keep up the good work................

Are You Worried???

i started my own tree and stump removal business this year. so, being in Minnesota i have the winter off. i really wanted to join the Army this winter, and get boot camp out of the way. only catch is, id never get finished up in time to be back home in the spring to start working again. i am considering it this upcoming winter though, like Army National Guard at least.

Are You Worried???

Let's see here>
Were looking straight into what could become a middle eastern
war with the potential of escalating beyond Iraq into some United Arab epic war of Biblical proportion. The queastion is does it ever bother me?
It bothers me when I think about it, or when I wake up during the night and think about it, or when I see young men and women in uniform preparing to ship out, and when I turn on the news. You bet your a** it bothers me.

But I don't let it control me.

" Courage is neither the absence nor the lack of fear, but rather the mastery of it."

UH....Guys, BY definition...if ya get "drafted" they will send ya where they NEED ya, You DONT get to choose...thats why people "volunteer" before they get drafted, so they have a choice...

If it gets to the point that the guvmint reinstats the draft, your looking at a 95% probability of becoming an Army grunt...(Infantry)...because they are dying fast enough to need replacement....

Are You Worried???

During Vietnam, the Army was the only branch of service that was drafting.

Yeah, I'm worried. Because I have a draft age son. But as a few others have said, it probably won't come to a draft. IMHO, the all volunteer Army is almost too big. This has allowed the Army the luxury of being very selective about their recruits.

No, I am not worried. All this world wants is to bring our country down to their stinking level.

Has anyone wondered why North Korea wants to negotiate with the US and not go to the security council at NATO or China or Japan?

They won't send them Yankee Dollars.

I say screw them and the South Koreans, pull out right now and see if they miss the $3,000,000,000.00 (Three BILLION, South Korea only, separate payments are/were made to North Korea for not developing nuclear weapons) that we pump into their society per year.

Ride that anti-American sentiment into office.

I agree with Ranger here. I think we need to get out of this garbage. I we were going to do something we should have done it long ago. Let's get out and leave them to it. They've been killing their selves pretty well for thousands of years. Let them continue. They'll eventually get who we want. Either that, or go on in and take care of business. Get it done.

I would be lying if I said that I am not a little concerned, but not to the point where I am going out and buying all the crap the media is telling us we need in the event of a war.

I don't want to see a war if it can be prevented, but something has to be done, so if it needs to be a war, so be it. I think we have one of the best men running the country right now if we are going to go to war.

Are You Worried???

Yeah, North Korea is going to attack us while we are at war with Iraq, their president, Mr. Kim Jong-Due-something-or-other has already stated that he doubts the ability of the US to fight a two front war. I guess if you really breed mindless patriotism, it will eventually make you forget history (WWII: a massive two-front war, which we actually won on both fronts). Needless to say, North Korea would pathetically compare to Imperial Japan of the 1940's, and our military has done nothing but become more capable.

As for the draft, it goes against everything that a free country stands for, and if it comes to that, then we really need to consider what we're doing anyway. If we need to pull hard-working young Americans away from their homes and families and buiding our nation's economy, then we better find a better use for them than infantry. Infantry is like throwing bodies in the fire, and if we resort to doing that again, then we are no better than countries like Somolia and Iraq, because we have lost our value of the human life. Because we value life so much, we have dedicated our lives to research, and to building more advanced machines of war, so that we can kill who we want to without killing anyone else, and not endangering ourselves in the process. Of course I'm talking about air power, and their ability to use precision guided munitions.

I'm surely not worried about Iraq's use of bio/chem warfare, because if they so much as load one up and point it, they will get a tactical nuclear retaliation. As soon as any nonconventional weapons are used by Iraq, the USAF and USN will unleash tactical hell on them, GBU-54s outfitted with 200 kiloton nukes. Not enough to spread radiation, but it will destroy everything in the vicinity. The international community will not have a problem with this, because using bio/chem warfare is legitimate cause for even using strategic nukes, the ones that get dropped from B-2's and turn the desert into glass, and cities into craters. Saddam has been promised this, so I don't think he'll even try to use his dirty weapons, because if they want to play dirty, we're the nastiest kids on the block. TK

Quite insightful. Usually a country forms alliances to protect themselves from the other side. We have been sucking up, paying and supporting ingrates. The whole world is going French.
