Could have done that for you last summer. I sold my 390 last fall.
Unless your heart is set on an FE I think the Y block is plenty of power. Free it up a bit and it will spank a 302 in a pull off.

You should,of course,do what pleases you,but parts for a Y-Block are readily available,no difficulty in finding stock parts. New performance parts are even being produced,namely by John Mummert (ford-y-block.com).He's doing intakes,heads,engine accessory parts,etc.Used performance parts are also available without too much trouble . I think it would be easier and more cost effective to keep and improve what you've got,if it's in otherwise serviceable condition.Steve.
