With 1800 miles now on my truck, I'm getting the best unloaded highway mileage (21 mpg) at 55-60 mph. On a long freeway trip last week, I averaged 19 mpg at 65-75 mph.
My truck is a short-bed, SRW, supercab, 4x4 with 3.55 E locker, and 18-inch wheels.
Sam, I meant that it is worth an extra $4K than the '08-'10's in my opinion. The new engine and transmission plus the interior and dash layout are worth shelling out an extra $4K vs. saving $4K on a '10.
It's my opinion and believe me, I have no ire against the 6.4/5R100. I enjoyed nearly every minute of my '08. The '11 is really different, I mean drastic. And, I think that when you have the choice of purchasing a '10 or an '11 and the difference is 4K, I think I would advise anyone to try to come up with the 4K and get the '11.

I can give you a few reasons to get a 2011.
1. Mileage. My mother is in a nursing home in Indianapolis and I visit her
every 2 to 3 weeks. The drive is 16 miles city and 238 miles of interstate.
At 72-75 MPH the best my 2009 would get is 13.6 MPG, calculated.
My 2011 with only 28 miles on the odometer got 17.4 MPG, calculated.
2. Power. You just have to drive one and see for yourself.
3. Transmission. Controlling my 5er up and down the steepest hills is so easy
with the manual shift mode.
Plus there are a lot of little tweaks that Ford made like the rear under seat
storage, storage under the middle seat in the front, improved driver
interface, better head rests, the motor is quieter, etc..
One more thing, for that extra $4k you get a truck that's a year newer
and that's gonna help your trade in value down the road.
We go to a campground about 90 miles from home, the 2009 got 7.2 MPG.
The 2011 pulling the same rig to the same campground , 9.8 MPG.
I am going to keep a log of my mileage when we go to WY.
My '08 PSD F250 was declared a total loss following an accident last week. I'm now searching for a replacement and am having a tough time deciding whether or not to go for the new 2011 6.7L truck or find a leftover 2010 truck for ~$4K less.
I can get a 2011 Long-box, crew cab, 4x4, XLT truck with the 6.7L PSD for $45,700, whereas a comparable 2010 would be around $41,000. I would be REALLY stretching my budget to get the 2011, but after driving two of them I really want it.
So I need to know what sorts of real-world MPGs you guys are getting. Towing varies by a lot depending on what you tow, and city also varies by driving style more than anything. So for comparison with my '08 6.4L, what do you guys see unloaded on the highway from 65-70 MPH?

I can not give a comparison of mileage between the 6.4 and the 6.7 as my 6.7 has not showed up yet. But I can say that comparing a 6.4 to 6.7 there is no way at all I would not try for the 6.7. It out does my 6.4 in every way there is. I got lucky enough to have a dealer let me hook up to one of their trucks on the lot and tow my mini excavator and trailer for about an hour and took it a 6-7% grade that was about 3-4 miles long and fairly strait. Absolutely no comparison to my 08 6.4. And I mean none.
I say get the 6.7 and don't bother looking back. Plus the 6.7 the cab does not have to come off for every single thing under the hood, a good thing once off warranty.
I ordered mine last Friday the 23rd of July. Not interested in dealing with my 6.4 any more.
2400 miles on the truck now. Last tank was 15.8 (hand calculated) lie-o-meter said 16.7. Last tank was 16.5 (hand calculated) li-o-meter said 17.4. Only difference was where I bought the fuel. First one was from Loves B10. Second was real diesel. Driving was done country roads 50mpg and highway, split 50/50. Mine is a F350 SRW LWB FX4 Crew Cab 6.7.

There are a few mileage threads on this form with many guys contributing. I have 5800 miles on mine now. 3000 of them have been pulling my 13000 pound Big Horn fifth wheel. I have noticed a definite wind penalty in this truck. It may just be because I am watching the mileage more closely. I stopped hand calculating when I realized the difference was less than a half mpg from the fuel computer. My latest trip of 1200 miles, 800 loaded with the fiver, has produced an overall average of 13.2 mpg. In a drive to Minneapolis unloaded, into a 20 mph wind my empty mileage was 16.3 mpg at 75 mph. Coming back on a calm day the same speeds resulted it 18.1 mpg. I have seen 21 mpg if I keep the truck below 65 mph. I will tell you that is difficult to do on the highway. The 2011 package is so smooth, powerful and most of all quiet it is too easy to be driving along, foot feeding the beast and end up at 80 mph.

I drove my new 2011 6.7L truck home today. Really amazing power, and starting with 130 miles on the engine I got 19.5 MPGs over the 100 miles I've driven today.
Compared to the 6.4L I have to agree it's quite an improvement. More power, MUCH better response, better transmission, quieter, nicer ride, and a REALLY cool LCD display make me very happy I chose the 2011 over the 2010.
I expect that once broken in I should see a solid 20 MPG on the highway, which makes this the most efficient truck I've ever owned, including the two F150s I've had.
When your headlights are in the "auto" position, they will come on when you turn on the windshield wipers during the day.
When in Tow/Haul, the back up sensors are automatically disabled! No more beeping when you have a trailer hooked up!
Rear under seat storage is actually kinda nice, useful.
Funny thing, if you're not 6ft tall and you have a 4X4, it's a challenge to close the hood. I am 6' and can barely reach the hood to pull it down and close it.

Lol. I'm six feet tall (barely) and have to stand on a little step stool to get to the dipstick to check the oil. I added a 2 inch leveler up front and now there is no way I can do anything on this engine without having a little vertical assistance. I have to pull down the hood from the side and walk around the front of the truck to pull it all the way closed... LOL.
