Question suspension problem questions

Hi gang,

I have been searching through forum w/ not too much luck.

My Excursion has only been mine a few short months now. I knew when I bought it I would need to freshen suspension eventually. It has lots of creaks, pops, vibration, etc. I only commute about 4 miles each way per day so is not a high mileage driver (although truck has 160K) for me. Powertrain was solid so that was a good selling point (& price was right ).

I know my way around a wrench pretty well but suspension is something I have never had to troubleshoot on past cars. What is best way to begin troubleshooting the many vibrations, creaks & groans, etc.? Can you all help point me to some existing threads or give me an idea so I can make a plan of attack for the future for the truck?

Most thanks!

JK

Suggest you start by checking the anti-sway bar mount & link bushings and the frame connectors. When worn or loose those make lots of weird noises.
