A P-51 Mustang is not exactly a easy plane to fly and not for the faint at heart. What a rush it must be to just to taxi out and climb into the blue in such a awesome old warbird. I hope he comes out of this well, and has the plane restored/replaced and gets back in the saddle.

I heard the audio replay of his approach contact with ATC at Oshkosh, and he questioned whether another aircraft taking off was OK with his approach. The last thing I heard was "I don't think so"...........Sounds like he stalled trying to avoid a collision to me. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one to me........
