how much to ship an engine
I have to pick up a 351W in atlanta which is an 11 hour drive from where I am (Missouri) With Gas at 1.60 (my truck gets 12-14 MPG) is it cheaper to ship? I'm on a military base in the middle of nowhere, the one postal guy here couldn't give me a straight answer as to how much it would cost. any ideas?

You may get a better answer by contacting a parts yard near there and asking for a quote on a similar engine. I shipped one by freight company years ago and cannot recall the amount, but I do recall there were an incredible number of tiers of pricing involved. (Was it new, used, rebuilt, short block, long block, crated, palleted, oil pan attached or not, loose items, etc, etc, etc,)
