will it tell if it's original mark III by checking vin cause how do i know someone didnt get the tailgate for this truck from an actual mark III and this is just a regular flareside
No way to tell by the VIN. Ford builds the truck and MarkIII just does the conversion.
extended cab flare sides are not that rare(i have one,pic in the link under my user name), but I think a mark III flare side extended cab might be somewhat rare.
Hey Ben,
I've only ever seen a few flares, and they have always have been a standard cab.
I wish I could afford one, they have a high price tag to this day it seems......if it's because I'm not paying attention.......then i'm truly in need of rehab, a ford fan should never miss a beauty
oh ok. i like ur red lightning. we live in a very small town (pop. 2,500) and there is a truck like that.man it's nice. owned by an old man and i seen under the hood when it was at same shop my car was. that thing is clean. think he bought it new and he still has it
I think the flareside/supercab combo is a *******ization that Ford should have never allowed. The newer flareside bed is supposed to be retro, but when Ford made "real" flareside beds, they only were available on regular cab trucks.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I suppose I'll call this my "fake, butt-ugly" truck from now on.

I am a car purist. This is just my opinion. I am not saying your trucks are ugly, I am just saying it's not in keeping with what I think the Flareside trucks were supposed to be. I think it's a sin against the car gods for Dodge to have a 4-door Charger, too. Name it the Coronet and I've got no problem.

And just what exactly were the Flareside trucks "supposed" to be and how would you know this?
What about them isn't "real" enough for you?
Do you also disapprove of say a Chevy Vega with a Big Block because it's "not pure". How far does this mantra go with you?

mine is not in Great condition, but I didn't pay any more for it then I would have for a regular bed truck in my area.
