VIN HELP/ REAR END

VIN HELP/ REAR END
I was trying to research the rear endin my truck is the 3.73 standard, It sit a little high , i wouldn't think that would make a differance?

The VIN is no help, since it does not contain the AXLE code (regardless of what year the vehicle is). So...don't bother posting all 17 digits.
The AXLE code is listed separately on the Certification Label (1981 to date), on the Warranty Plate (1961/80), on the Rating Plate (1948/60).
There is an AXLE ID tag on the rear axle itself. Lists the type of axle, the ratio, whether Limited Slip is present...or not.
