Hey guys, been a while again and it's always great to read what's been built, changed and advised on since I last read here.....
I am now thinking about ordering some new font rotors for the truck. The company I will probably buy from recommended drilled AND slotted when I asked their advice but I wanted to hear what you guys have used, why, and what you think of them. I am pretty much limited to short run driving, everyday sort of in and out of town stuff with ocassional, limited towing and moderate hills.
Have you used drilled, slotted, or D & S and how have they performed?
Any input appreciated, as always. Thanks.

Reason: missed info
My opinion might not be what you want to hear, but I just run out and get them from the local auto parts store.. I dont tow every day, my trips are also short, so a lot of braking. I buy the lifetime warranty pads from Auot zone, and the one year warranty rotors. I replace rotors about every 4 years and I get new pads every 2.
I prefer the Motorcraft brake parts for my use. 90% of my driving is metro/highway stuff and the other 10% is fairly heavy towing with steep grades. I change pads every other year and still have my original rotors. Eventually I'll have to replace the rotors and plan to go with OEM when that time comes.
Come next month I'll be needing front rotors, my inspection station friend told me last year to be ready to get some new ones, mine are rusted bad, the cooling ports area. I've been tossing around options bad, I'd love to have the Cryroed rotors and Hawk pads but I have a lifetime of brake pads from my local parts store too, not sure if its worth it for me using these Duralast HD pads on those nice rotors, never hear of people here putting anything other than Hawks on their Cryroed rotors. Either OEM or local parts house for me, Wagners their called.
Funny, I was just in the mountains this week and on the way down, my brakes are starting to washboard a little when I got on them hard. I was only towing a ATV trailer so not a lot of weight. Anyway, I was going to post up a question about rotors too. I would love to have the high dollar setup but money isn't growing on the tree out back so I may have to go the cheap route.
I just installed the $60/each 'Wearever' rotors (Chinese) from Advanced Auto and bedded them in with my fairly new pads. My old rotors were warped. The new ones survived the bedding process without warping. I don't tow particularly heavy loads, but do drive in the mountains. I put cheap Chinese rotors on several other vehicles and have never had a complaint. I'm sure if you drive it like it was stolen, you will warp these rotors.
Two years ago I was having rotor issues as well (they were warped). I ended up putting Power Slot's on and haven't had any problems since.
Fortunately I was able to keep the original rotors and just had them machined as spares. Since I was planning on having the brakes replaced as well and didn't need the pads I just went ahead with spending the extra on the rotors. Not one single problem since.
Most of my driving is in town but I do haul my camper and boat some and the breaks are great.
Thanks for all the answers. I looked into the cryoed powerslots and it seems they are twice the price of the rotors I looked at and I would have a hard time justifying that sort of extra expense..... my money tree isn't in bloom either The generic, warrantied rotors sound like a good idea (I'm not looking for "fancy" I want the best bang for my buck) but you have to consider my location, my truck is outside the US and shipping for returns can be as expensive as just buying new parts, and NO local parts stores here. Also, the price of the NAPA rotors for example, are decent, except when you then go with their 'Ultra Premium', which I probably would, and then they cost as much, or more than the ones I looked at originally. How about some *specific* input on these, compared to apparent quality and price of what you guys have??? http://www.r1concepts.com/ford-f250s...l-ES.65073.htm
I'm still up in the air on this bt your input is helpful and appreciated.
David, like some of the other guys I am running the less expensive parts house rotors. I found some at Oriellys that have a lifetime warranty, and were about $130 a set. I do a lot of buisness with my local oriellys and the counter guy told me if they warp bring em back and Ill give you a new set. I have had these for about 20K miles now and they are still performing great. Follow the bedding in process to the T, and I think you will be fine.
BTW mine is a daily driver that includes about 40% metro with 60% hiway, and I tow an 11.5K# 5ER on the weekends.
I have had the powerslot cryoed and hawk pads for about 4 years now. They seam to work great. I am have a pulsing now but I don't believe it is warped rotors. I think it may be a bad right rear caliper. I hear it squeak when I apply the brakes and the squeak follows the pulse. Other than that they are great brakes.
