That's why I keep the chain in the bed of the truck...always handy. You're a little higher elevation than I am, so you get a little more snow than we do. Last year, about two small towns over, 83" fell during a 2 day snow storm. We were lucky and only had about 48" fall on us. That was in March, I believe.
Those back east get an entirely different kind of snow than we do...theirs is a heavy, slushy snow that is debilitating at 2". The powder we get is much easier to navigate in.
And I'm out in it, when it falls in the middle of the night, every time. We got 12 inches of that wet, heavy, nasty stuff in about six hours last year. That was fun at 4am.
Drove thru snow drifts on the trail, 4th of July wknd. at 6,000ft elevation........lots of snow melting making puddles for the damn mosquitoes...........at least temps were only in the 60s.
You haven't lived until you've dealt with the drifts we get up here on the hill. Got out to the T at the end of the road, and the end of my road was drifted about to the headlights. On top of that PennDOT had gone up the hill, and packed plow discharge, including slush, salt, ice, etc. against the drift. Took me several run shots to break through.
Hasn't hit much higher than 90 here in Spokane, WA, but even this is killing me. The fan is on all day since I don't have AC. Not a big fan of this thing called an electric bill. Lots of humidity for the area, too. My truck doesn't like the heat so much. Lost two hoses yesterday cuz they burst open, spraying coolant everywhere. In the truck's defense, they were old hoses. Wouldn't be surprised a bit if they were factory from 1990.
ithink its been around 97 here and the heat index was about 105
been in the hay fields in it for a week straight, first full day off today, i loved it! A/C was great, but i couldnt sit still i feel like there was to much to do to just sit so i ended up working on my own crap all day today and i pulled with my truck for the first time since i got my headers in the 97 degree weather and it did awesome!

I agree-the snow back East is much more wet and heavy. I grew up in St Louis, Missouri and can attest to the humidity and heat of the Midwest and East. I still cant believe how nice the Spring and Summer is here in the West. And love the 75 dollar-a-month electric/gas bills in what they call the Summer here in Colorado!!!
We here in IL/IA can send you a couple billion gallons of flood water to cool ya'll off if you'd like.
That's no joke. The farmers are thankful for the rain but we've had more than our fair share for the next month or two.
I live in Des Moines and the last 2 weeks have been back and forth between rain and unrelenting heat/humidity. Seems like it's been raining every night, and then the sun is out during the day to cook/boil us in the humidity, only to repeat the cycle. I'm just glad our sump pump hasn't broken down yet.
That Delhi dam breach was pretty bad. In Carroll County, we're still rising in some areas...too much rain up north still flowing. 1883 records broken by 3x the amount of precipitation. 84 south bridge over Mississippi spillway closed (unknown damage to pilings) and Sabula and Savanna both took on a lot. What a mess.
Yay! Today is overcast and only in the 70's. I haven't seen it rain around here in a little while. A nice t-storm would be good this time of year. But at least with the heat gone today I can get some important things on the truck done. Fixed the hoses that blew but now my thermostat housing water outlet-thingmabober gasket is leaking hardcore. One thing after another in this durned heat!
High 70s and low 80s for the rest of the week here, one possible T-storm tomorrow night - hell yeah I'll be outside, I'm already getting happy on the rattle can fumes and I still got a whole roof to coat

Only problem with the rattle can fumes is usually it's happy, then high, then headache.
Eh, not for me, I'm too used to all sorts of spirits like that from both my dad's job and my grandpa's shine still, the only thing that really gets me is coating the interior side if the floorpans with spray-on bedliner, now that's some hardcore stuff. The rattle can stuff is weak, besides I'm working outside and today there's a nice breeze going.
It would be nice to be able to use a rattle can. Here as soon as the paint leaves the tip, its dry. Kinda like the yellow snow thing you mountaineers have, lol.
Its actually not that bad today, only 105 at 42%. Maybe a pretty lightning show later, which is nice.
