With the temps getting down to the mid 20's last night, I got a good opportunity to test Fords newest flash with the inductive heating strategy which was implemented to address the stiction problem and I can report that my truck performs outstanding during cold morning operation.
For ones who's trucks are suffering from cold weather performance, this flash is one a several ways to address the injector stiction issue. I highly recommend it.

If I am not mistaken, didn't the inductive heat flash come out in 2007 which I got done back then.

I don't recall when the inductive heat flash came out but it's definitely not new. I do know the first attempt to address the stiction problem was with the buzz flash that pumped out the oil in the spoil valve, and then the inductive heat flash came out afterwards. I also believe the latest flash for inductive heat does not stress the FICM as bad as the original version.
I notice a huge improvment with the new flash. Recently I was running an old tune (VXCF5) and switched back to a new VXCF9 tune and the cold starts were noticibly better.
If you know someone with an SCT programmer, they can pull it for you. Expect to pay $80-$120 for the new flash. Its usually 1 hours labor, whatever taht is in your area.
I am so apprehensive about getting the new flash eventhough I know that it really improves cold starts. I have the short lived buzz the injectors after shutdown flash and really want to reflash to the current but I am concerned that it will kill my mileage. If anyone has gone from the buzz the injectors after shutdown flash, to the current maybe you can comment on mileage changes?
My truck was running VXCF5 strat when I bought. Ran good then just before warranty ran out in Dec I asked the lastest flash. Well I have gone back three times and my truck now reads VXCF4. I have no idea how or why but my truck went backwards in programming.
Talked with the guy that wrote my tunes and he mentioned some just dont take & it sets the truck back to original?
So if you are happy you may just want to leave things alone.

Who wrote your tunes? Are you checking the strategy with the truck in stock form or with a tune in it? Once you load that old tune into your truck, bye bye vxcf9.
I had Matt make a new set of tunes.
No I was running stock for a couple weeks VXCF5 on the tuner. Then had EGR & Oil cooler replaced. Checked and it was now VXCF4. Left it alone & week later heads let go. Took it in asked for newest flash again. Picked it all heads done and when I checked it was still VXCF4. Went right back in and asked to have the truck flashed with me there. They hooked it up and it still comes up as VXCF4.
So that is what I had my new tunes made for. Turck runs good for me anyway. -30 temps this winter & no issues with starting.
Wish I could of gotten the VXCF9 just for the extra upgrades they have done.

My fuel mileage did not change from the pre buzz flash to the latest inductive heat flash.
