My 79 F-100 steering coluum has rattled ever since I got it and is driving me nuts.. I have replaced all the guts except the lower bearing and that's because the sound is coming from the shifter area..(automatic) And if you slightly move the gear selector towards 2nd the rattle goes away?? And now what it's been doing the last couple days is when I turn the wheel I'm getting a rub/ squeal noise in the area of the steering wheel meets the coluum?? Any ideas??
